I knitted the Yggdrasil Mitts by Skeindeer in Cheviot Blue 4 ply in All’s Shipshape and Edna. I started these at Edinburgh airport on the way to the Olsostrikke Festival, so they’re very well travelled, and here they’re at Sugar Sands beach in north Northumberland.

The hat is the Brackett hat by Whitney Hayward from issue 3 of Laine magazine, knitted in Cheviot Blue DK with 2 ends held together, in the colour All’s shipshape, modelled by reluctant teenager!

Well he may have been reluctant, but I love both items. I have the Yggdrasil pattern but I haven’t made them yet. Must get round to it!

Thank you x The Yggdrasil pattern is lovely! I hadn’t done any stranded knitting before and they were a good introduction for me, and I’m really pleased with them.

That’s a great shot of the teenager!  Must get a shot of ‘my old man’ in his Brackett!
