Canny Lass Shawl
Canny Lass Shawl was designed by Karie Westermann.
We are very grateful to Karie for designing this beautiful shawl to lead our Canny Lass Collection. It is the special touch of luxury to wrap yourself in at the end of a long working day.
• Canny Lass is a semi-circular shawl worked from the top down with small lace bands and a wide applied edge.
• It is suitable for intermediate knitters who are comfortable following lace instructions.
• The shawl is fully written apart from the lace edge which is also charted.
• The applied border is worked at a 90-degree angle to the shawl at the end. You cast on stitches, and work them according to the chart. As you reach the end of the border chart, you join the last stitch of your border to a stitch from the shawl body.
4mm/US 6 circular needles, 24” or longer recommended
15 sts by 28 rows = 10cm x 10 cm/4”x4 cm measured over stocking st.
Row gauge is more important than stitch gauge for this shawl. If your row gauge is very different to the one in the pattern, you may wish to go up or down a needle size.
