Bloom Vest

Bloom Vest was designed by Camilla Vad who describes it as “warm cosy and fun to knit”

Camilla says she has always been  fascinated by gradients of colours, and two created this cosy vest that is knitted seamlessly bottom up with her dip dyed technique to create a gradient of colour within the knitting, which is stylish and simple and perfect to layer over a shirt or t-shirt.

Bloom Vest is knitted by holding 4 strands of yarn together at once, in three different yarns. This creates a gorgeously thick and warm garment, and allows for really clever colour effects. Of the three yarns one is used throughout, for this we’re suggesting Cheviot Marsh 4ply, the other two being Yeavering Bell 4ply. As you knit upwards from the hem you vary the proportion of the other two yarns, which then leads to a wonderful gradient of colour which Camilla calls a dip dye effect and it’s incredibly effective. Embroidered bubbles are made with leftover and scarp yarn a perfect and fun way to use up those little leftovers, the pattern is made so you can place the bubbles as you like, and even add some later on, or leave them out for a more simple look.
Colours of Cheviot Marsh can be seen in gallery, for colours of Yeavering Bell scroll down.
