The Cloud Blouse is the latest design by PetitKnit. Floaty, feminine and such an easy relaxed style I think it could be a perfect sweater for any occasion. Described as a kind of little sister to Cloud Sweater, a spring friendly blouse.

The Cloud Blouse is worked from the top down. Short rows are worked to shape the shoulders, which are then joined to form the front yoke. The body and sleeves are worked in the round on a circular needle, and finally the stockinette stitch funnel neckline is worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck opening.

The pattern was designed to be knitted with two strands of laceweight yarn held together. We think our Yeavering Bell 4ply with it’s wonderful drape would be a lovely yarn for this project, and would be a good equivalent by itself to the two strands of lace weight.

The Cloud Blouse is designed to have approx. 12-15 cm [4¾-6 inches] of positive ease.

Yarn requirements:

sizes XXS, XS, S, M, L & XL  – select  small – 3 skeins.

sizes 2XL-5XL – select large- 4 skeins.

Total yarn usage will depend on your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make. 

Needles: Circular needles: 4 mm / 40, 60 and 80 or 100 cm. Double-pointed needles: 4 mm

Gauge: 20 sts x 31 rows in stocking stitch on a 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm

Knit a swatch before beginning the project to check if the recommended needle size gives you the correct gauge, and adjust your needles if necessary.
