Whistlebare’s own sock yarn, 80% mohair and 20% Wensleydale from our own goats and sheep, tightly twisted for hard working feet.
Mohair is the perfect fibre for socks. It has the highest rub test of any natural fibre so you don’t need nylon. Nothing is better for keeping cold feet warm and hot feet cool than natural fibres. Mohair and Wensleydale are very lustrous and smooth, meaning bacteria can’t get hold and so there is no smell! All round the perfect blend for active feet.
Cuthbert’s Sock mini skeins are perfect for adding contrast in your socks or even for knitting an entirely stripy pair. We made Cuthbert’s Sock slightly heavier than the average sock yarn as we wanted the perfect socks for wearing out of doors, hiking, farming, gardening, enjoying ourselves.
