Under The Tree Socks by Joji Locatelli
Under The Tree Socks by Joji Locatelli are part of Interpretations Vol. 8, a charming collaboration between Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki. Each pattern is inspired by a word and these socks are inspired by ANTICIPATION. Perfect for a knitting project that might end up as a gift under the Christmas tree.
This pair of socks is worked at a heavier-than-usual weight (DK) and knits up quickly, this is the most perfect project for those last-minute presents. Our Cuthbert’s Sock yarn knits as DK and will therefore be a gorgeous choice for this pattern.
Because these socks are knitted from the toe up, you can weigh your yarn before starting and knit one sock until you’ve used 50% of it, then bind off and start the other one. That way you’ll make sure you have enough yarn for both socks in the length you would like.
Featuring a cable pattern that is both written and charted, and a short-row-heel this toe-up pattern will knit up into beautiful, squishy and cosy socks!

Made with our Cuthbert's sock
Whistlebare’s own sock yarn, 80% mohair and 20% Wensleydale from our own goats and sheep, tightly twisted for hard working feet.
Mohair is the perfect fibre for socks. It has the highest rub test of any natural fibre so you don’t need nylon. Nothing is better for keeping cold feet warm and hot feet cool than natural fibres. Mohair and Wensleydale are very lustrous and smooth, meaning bacteria can’t get hold and so there is no smell! All round the perfect blend for active feet.
